Business, Art, Rencontres d’arlesThere’s just two days to book a place on the portfolio reviews for this year’s Rencontres d’Arles festival in the south of France – a chance to present your work to some of the leading figures in international photography.
The reviews take place during Professional Week (04-13 July) of the festival, which brings together many of the world’s leading photographers, curators, editors and gallerists, and costs €280 for 10 one-to-one meeting, each lasting 20 minutes.
The expert reviewers include Irène Attinger (Maison Européenne de la Photographie), Alexa Becker (Kehrer Verlag), Anne Biroluau (Bibliothèque Nationale de France), Clément Cheroux (Centre Pompidou), Bernd Dinkel (Geo magazine), William Ewing (curator), William Hunt (curator, collector), Erik Kessles (Kessels Kramer), Dewi Lewis (book publisher), Laura Morsch (Agnès B endowment), Joanna Neurath (Thames & Hudson), Suzanne Nicholas (ICP), Amanda Renshaw (Phaidon), Maarten Schilt (book publisher), Lars Schwander (Fotografisk Center), Laura Serani (Rencontres de Bamako), Lars Willumeit (Du magazine).
BJP editor Simon Bainbridge will also be reviewing on the afternoons of 06, 09 and 10 July. The deadline to apply is 20 June.
At the end of the final session, five winners will be chosen by the reviewers (having voted each session), members of the Rencontres d'Arles team and the Fnac (the cultural foundation of the French superstore). They will win an Olympus camera, €1000 worth of prints at Janvier Photo Lab and a one year subscription to Images magazine, plus the first winner will be exhibited in the 2011 edition of the festival.
Last year’s winner was Lea Golda Holterman, whose work is on show this year.
