I'm not sure I'd call that "heavy-handed" - the officer seemed perfectly courteous to me. Recent incidents involving people being told to stop photographing or filming are concerning, but in this case I think the journalist's reaction was a bit OTT.

I agree ; not only is the reaction exaggerated, it also shows a certain ignorance towards more 'local' knife problems in the country. Just because the journalist is a middle class caucasian. does not mean he should get angsty when under suspicion.
Freedom for others requires some self-restraint.
