?
If that's the best "street photography" on offer in the uk something is very wrong. Sorry Ed, but you are not at war with the obvious.

Waiting on more evidence
I wait in anticipation that the photo shown is either one of a series that creates a sum greater than its parts.. or that for some reason the judges have not put forward the best of Ed Swinden's shots.
So judgement suspended for now.....

Street photography
The shot that won the street photography competition. Are you saying that it represents the very best in street the UK has to offer? If so this is a great cause for concern Pat Lyttle / Jstreetstyle

Oh deary me...
My god...really? That seriously is one of the most average photos ever? And they've selected this as the winner...
Really?
Oh dear. What were the rest of the entries like?

Hmmmm
I was going to enter this, but I just figured I wouldn't get anywhere and whoever won would have a portfolio of images such as this. But maybe theres better ones so I'll reserve judgement until I see them all.
But I always get the impression that curators in the public sector arts like underwhelming work to exhibit, so they can write more text with "it raises questions" etc , this kinda ties into the debate surrounding The Photographers Gallery and the lack of quality there.

miserable photographers
Blimey you lot are a miserable bunch. It makes me embarrassed to be a photograper. What the hell's wrong with congratulating someone on their achievement?
