Why not?

And what would you have taken? A closed mind?

FONT size

Thank you for creating this app but how can you make the watermark font size smaller? I just downloaded the app.

Posted by: SDVA on 03 Jan 2013 at 18:47

Marksta

In reply to SDVA's question, you can change the font size with the pinch gesture. If you press the "i" icon at the top right, it gives you a concise summary, based on your current context, including how to resize the font.

Great app!

I would've gladly paid money for this!

Congrats

Well done John,

Instead of joining the throngs online whinging about Instagram's terms of service etc. you've actually done something about it.

Kind regards,
Andrew Quilty

Marksta is a winner!

Well done and huge thanks to John D McHugh. Easy to use and very timely App that actually works.

Finally!

Woohoo, thanks! I've avoided sharing photos for this reason, so very glad this is now available. Well done Marksta.

Ah! I-Phone only

Now we need something similar for those of us who don't use an I-phone... :-)

Would be great if there was a general PC application doing the same things as well. This could revolutionise Facebook and other social networking sites.

Great stuff, I hope this generates a bit of income for its creator - well deserved.

Pedant here

You can't steal images online, you can only copy them, hence the term 'copyright infringement'.

If the images were actually 'stolen', a watermark won't actually be of much use.

Android?

Please, oh PLEASE....you or someone out there make this for android?? I love this idea, and would use it in a heartbeat....but I do not use iPhone/Apple.

+1s

+1 Andrew Quilty & Stacy — hopefully those who use and appreciate the app will remember to leave feedback in the app store and continue to support your efforts. Namaste!

Camera?

Is this app only for photos taken with the iPhone?

Posted by: Paul Reading on 04 Jan 2013 at 18:20

Missed the freebie!

While it is in the U. S. App Store, it's not free, or I missed it!

Resizing of the photos

I just bought the app, and it is great. However, it states in the description that you can resize images. This does not seem to be the case when saving to the camera roll. I'd like to be able to save smaller size(s) to my camera roll to post later to various sites/services. What am I missing?

Re: a general PC application

Pete J, look into Irfanview, GraphicsMagick or ImageMagick, among others, for use on a 'puter.

Uh

Why are the worst photographers always the most concerned about image theft?

Posted by: Mike on 07 Jan 2013 at 10:18

App to prevent use

Wouldn't it be better to have an App that actually notifies the person holding the copyright when and where their image is being used and/or allowing them to give permission or send an invoice to the user should they choose to do so?

Posted by: Wendy on 07 Jan 2013 at 19:34

About instagram...

The earlier comment about how this would fight predatory terms of service seems shortsighted: once they grab right on your pictures a copyright notice does nothing to stop a picture being used.

Watermarks are certainly a deterrent, but not a cure all solution.

It works!

Thanks! Wish I thought of this app first :-)

More Please...

I'm careful to TRY & watermark everything online and just last week was bemoaning to a friend re the lack of ability to do such on the cellphone. This is especially since cameras 6D are set up to wifi to the phone, etc for instant upload. Unfortunately, I switched from the iPhone to the Galaxy SIII. So MORE PLEASE? for the Android crowd. I'd be the first in line!

Andriod phones

Hi, what a great idea! Very well done for setting it up. Is is available for use via an Android smart phone?!

Why cant cameras add this feature

Why cant cameras add this feature, instead of just date, why not a signature?
