The prize, which is sponsored by The Sunday Times and BJP, is run in memory of Parry, a photojournalist who died while on assignment for the newspaper during the Romanian revolution in 1989.
Photographers attending a full-time recognised photography course or under the age of 24 years could submit a portfolio of their work and a synopsis of the project they would undertake if they won the award. The prize is £3000 towards the winner's dream assignment and £550 to the two runners-up.
A panel of experts, including BJP editor Simon Bainbridge, selected Crow for her Love Me project, which follows a 17-year-old girl looking for 'people who can provide her with emotional stability'.
