Leaked video shows US attack on Iraqis, Reuters photographers

WikiLeaks has obtained footage that shows a 2007 attack by two Apache helicopters that killed dozens of Iraqis and one Reuters photographer and his assistant

The attack, which took place on 12 July 2007, had been the subject of intense scrutiny from Reuters over the past three years, with the news organisation filling Freedom of Information Act requests to have the video released - to no avail.

Now, military whistleblowers have released the video to WikiLeaks, a website that promotes leaking to fight government and corporate corruption. The video shows the unprovoked attack that killed more than 12 people including Reuters photographer Namir Noor-Eldeen, 22, and his assistant and driver Saeed Chmagh, 40.
