Rhubarb-Rhubarb, the organisers of Birmingham's popular portfolio review events, will tackle the subject of digital storytelling and multimedia in a London seminar on 19 June

Author: Olivier Laurent

The Photography Still Moving seminar will bring together Anna Stevens of Panos Pictures and UK-based training company duckrabbit, alongside Adam Westbrook, a young freelance journalist and filmmaker, who has made his name advising journalists on how to tackle and benefit from technology changes.

"it may be one of the toughest times ever to be a photographer, but it's also one of the most creatively exciting," says Rhubarb-Rhubarb. "The web has offered a multitude of possibilities for getting photography out to new and ever increasing audiences, but many photographers in the UK remain in the dark. Creating a digital voice for your work might not be the magic bullet for your career, but without one the decline could be terminal."

The one-day seminar aims at exploring how still photographers can make the leap to digital storytelling. "We'll show you the tools you need, as well as sharing how you can make money from multimedia."

Benjamin Chesterton and David White of duckrabbit', Stevens and Westbrook will present examples of great digital storytelling and advice photographers on how to benefit from new technologies.

The seminar takes place on 19 June from 10.30am until 4.30pm, at Direct Studio - 200-202 Hercules Road in London. Entry costs £45. For more information, visit www.rhubarb-rhubarb.net/seminars.
