Sony has announced two new entry-level cameras - the A290 and A390. Both sport 14.2-megapixel sensors and will be available this summer
Author: Olivier Laurent
The two new models complement the firm's Alpha range of entry-level DSLRs, which is already populated with the A230, A330 and A380.
While the A290 and A390 share the same 14.2-megapixel sensor, the A290 lacks a Live View mode, while the A390 offers it on a tilt 2.7-inch TFT Clear Photo LCD screen. Both cameras also have a TTL phase detection autofocus system with CCD line sensors offering nine autofocus points.
Currently, Sony has no UK pricing information available. "We will not have any pricing until it launches," a spokeswoman tells BJP.
