Nikon UK announced late on Friday that its general manager for the imaging division has quit. In a short statement, Nikon says that Coleman left the "company to pursue other interests." Until a replacement is found, John Read, Nikon's finance director, will be acting as interim general manager for the division.
"Nikon thanks Simon for his significant contribution to the business," says Michio Miwa, Nikon UK's president. "We are sad to see him go but we wish him the best of luck for the future. Until a replacement is appointed we have plans in place to ensure that the day to day functionality of the business will not be affected."
Nikon's imaging division is expected to unveil new digital SLRs over the summer in anticipation of this year's Photokina trade show in Cologne, which takes place in September.
