Photovoice will kick of its programme of participatory photography training sessions with a three-day workshop on 14 September. The event - Designing and Running Participatory Photography Projects - is aimed "at those who want to gain a solid understanding of the processes involved in working with participatory photography and is ideal for practitioners and professionals looking to embark on their own projects," says Photovoice.
"Participants will learn about the key aspects of participatory photography, considerations for designing projects, what is involved in running projects and facilitation techniques. We focus on the key things you need to consider to design and deliver a participatory photography project, and provide resources to games and activities that can be used in workshops."
Photovoice will also offer a one-day workshop - Introduction to Participatory Photography Methods - for people who are not "ordinarily working with photography and digital media." This event will be offered on 22 September.
A version of the same workshop "aimed at those with visual backgrounds who already have an understanding og working with photography" will be offered on 10 November. The three-day workshop will also be repeated on 17, 18 and 19 November.
