Phase One has announced, following its acquisition of Microsoft's Expression Media software, that it will survey its users to plan future product development

Phase One has launched a survey designed "to better understand the needs and preferences of all Expression Media owners. Information gathered will be used in planning future product development," the company says.

The launch follows Phase One's acquisition of Expression Media in late May. Expression Media is a Microsoft digital asset management application used to catalog and organise images, videos and music files.

In an interview with BJP in June, Henrik O. Håkonsson, president and CEO of Phase One, said that photographers would ultimately "decide what components of Expression Media and Capture One we will put together." He continued: "But, it's important to add that we don't want to lock people in one particular software. We develop the best tools we can, but if customers want to put it together with something else, they can."

The survey, launched this week, is open to all registered customers of Expression Media and runs until 31 August. All participants are also entering a chance to win an Apple iPad.
