Ricoh's latest digital compact camera, the CX4

Ricoh has added to its burgeoning line up of digital compact cameras with a new model featuring a 10.7x zoom

Ricoh has a new digital compact carriving this autum.

The CX4 has a 28-300mm zoom lens with a 1cm macro capability, HD video capture, 5fps continuous shooting and 10 megapixel resolution, just like its predecesor, the CX3, but adds subject-tracking autofocus and "enhanced" image sensor shift image stabilisation, claimed to "reduce blur on average by the equivalent of about [–/+3.7 EV shutter speed stops] for improved performance under dim indoor lighting and at high zoom ratios".

Further new features include a “night landscape multi-shot mode” that combines four exposures into a single photograph for "reduced image noise", a “creative shooting mode”with effects such as soft focus and cross process, plus a newly-designed body "featuring molded curves that make it easier to slip the camera into your pocket".

Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
