The Sinarback eVolution86 H has been designed for studio shoots and features a 48.0x36.0mm sensor with a resolution of 8082x6042 pixels, equivalent to 48.8 megapixels. The back can capture up to 13 images per minute, has a dynamic range of 12 f-stops and an exposure range of 32 seconds up to 1/4000s. Its sensitivity ranges from ISO 50 to ISO 800.
The eVolution86 H back uses the same design as its predecessor the eVolution75 H, where "heat-generating components such as the display, internal memory and CF card hardware were removed entirely," says Sinar. "The benefit is superior capture speed and image quality. And because there's no display screen, there's no need to make shoot-presets on the back as this has been handed over to Sinar's CaptureShop application and is managed in software."
Photographers can check their images on a computer screen in seconds using the digital back's FireWire 800 port connection. "The back features dual peltier and fan cooling for optimal continuous operation, even when things hot up during day-long or double-shift studio sessions," adds Sinar.
The digital back offers an average image file size of 105MB in raw format and 1-shot mode. The file size can be boosted to 290MB in 4-shot mode, claims Sinar, thanks "to the controlled piezo-electric shifting of the Bayer array which provides greater colour resolution," it says.
Sinar also offers a range of adapters to adapt the back to most view and medium format cameras. The Sinarback eVolution86 H retails from $29,500. It will be on show at Photokina in Cologne.
