British Journal of Photography spoke with Hiroshi Kawahara and Makoto Ooishi, the designers of Fujifilm's new FinePix X100 camera. See the exclusive interview here:
And here is a video of the press conference where the camera was officially announced:
Fujifilm's managing director of Electronic Imaging, Adrian Clarke, presents the FinePix X100 camera. For more details on the camera, read our full reports here and here.
Well, I guess that lone executive needs more pre-planning to comment on a camera that does not work.... He has some skills but, really for a company that big to just 'Wing-It' and be so casual like a grade 9 presentation hardly fits. It reminds me of Bill Gates and some of the Gaffs he endured.
I found this presentation very good... but it certainly needed more polish... Better than last years M9 event for sure. I learned alot about the camera, but somehow I feel this camera needed some Los Vegas glitter. Many many people will identify with this camera!
The two other Japan guys need a better setting than a cafeteria and some pop bottles in view. Surely.... there is a nice quiet place for interviews.... and someone needs practice here phasing questions so they can be understood... 'The 1st Time'. This interview is very long for the information obtained. .... Not very 'British', I'd say, chappies!
Basically I found the camera exciting, but the interview never drew out more depth or layers to the aims of the interview/ discussion.
I think respect and fair play are needed for these manufactureers and that means bringing along what will make the interview stand out. Every 2 years.... lots of time to get it right!
For me the camera is a 'buy'! Finally logic is falling into place and I so much respect Fugi for their cognitive skills on this camera.
Jokes and fun aside, thank you very much for this information. I love how the Japaniese dialogue and strive for honesty in their communications. Having worked many years there myself, I feel the follow-through in their interview gives a very solid connection to the viewers feeling about that company. I especially like liked how they are so non-German in their relaxed, casual and really personalble style.
I am sure the BJP had a lot to do with that impression!
Thank you once again.
