Linhof has, in a video interview with BJP, introduces the 3D Micro, a new leveling head developed to offer extremely precise camera adjustments

Author: Olivier Laurent

Designed to be used with a range of precision cameras such as the Linhof Techno, Master Technika or the Linhof Technorama systems, the 3D Micro uses rubber-coated turning knobs to offer self-aligning micro movements of 14 degrees on both sides as well as front and rear, claims Linhof.

"An additional panoramic plate situated above the movement axis permits exact individual exposures for composed panoramic images," says Linhof. All adjustements can be controlled and repeated with pricise scales.

The 3D Micro is also equipped with the Linhof Quickfix, which allows for easy attachment of the camera. Two spirits levels serve for the control of the vertical positioning of the camera, which offers "crucial architectural alignment," says Linhof.

Paula Pell-Johnson of Linhof in the UK shows to BJP the 3D Micro:

That's nice, but...

...is the "quick fix" attachment compatible with Arca-Swiss type camera/lens plates such as those made by Really Right Stuff, Kirk, etc.?

If not, I think it's time some of these manufacturers started realising that it is pretty much the standard out there at the moment, and a lot of us photog's like to keep things to one system.
