Pentax 645D to make UK appearance

Pentax 645D

Pentax is set to officially unveil, in the UK, its 645D medium format camera at a 26 November event organised in collaboration with Park Cameras

Author: Olivier Laurent

The event will allow UK photographers to get their hands, for the first time, on the Pentax 645D medium format camera, which was first announced back in 2005. The preview comes as the camera is finally expected to make it to the UK in the next few days.

Up to 40 photographers will be admitted at the ASA Infinity Studios in Chiddingly, East Sussex, where prestigious cars and a model will be on hand, alongside members of the Pentax team.

The event is free and runs in two sessions - 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm - on 26 November. Spaces are limited. For more details, visit www.parkcameras.com.

BJP reviewed the camera in its November issue, with Adam Woolfitt finding the 645D to work well. "I was very impressed with the files I shot – even at its highest ISO setting of 1600. Yes, there is some noise at 1600, but it is much more like grain than aggressive Technicolor snow, and if sharpened discreetly, it adds a rather filmic look, as well as making handheld or low light shooting feasible."
