Hasselblad, taking Leica's cue with its many collector cameras, is releasing a limited run of 100 H4D-40 Stainless Steel cameras

When Hasselblad showed, at this year's Photokina trade show, the solid steel body from which all H4D cameras are built, it didn't expect photographers' reactions. "It generated excitement among photographers because of its unique look and appealing aesthetic," says Hasselblad.

The feedback has led Hasselblad to produce a limited run of 100 H4D-40 Stainless Steel cameras, which will retail at €13,990 +VAT body only or €14,990 +VAT with the HC 2.8/80mm lens.

Hasselblad has also announced pricing of its H4D Ferrari Limited Edition camera, which is now available at €21,500 +VAT. Similarly to the Stainless Steel edition, only 499 units of the Ferrari edition will be available for purchase.

"The H4D Ferrari Limited Edition is finished in Ferrari's unique color 'rosso fuoco', and bears the legendary Racing Shield," says Hasselblad. "The camera, which comes with an 80mm lens, is presented in an exclusively designed and engineered box with a glass top equally labeled with the distinctive Ferrari Racing Shield. Dual layers, one for the camera, with the lens and accessories housed in a separate lower level, are lined with a soft and rich material. This striking case is housed in a special handmade case and therefore is ideal for both storage and display."
