Swedish photography legend Anders Petersen is organising a week-long workshop in Morocco this spring

Photographers have until 14 February to sign up for a workshop with Anders Petersen.

The photographer is teaching a week-long workshop in Fez, Morocco from 27 April-01 May 2011. The workshop, organised by 1000 Words, will consist of 12 participants and costs £1250 for five days, £350 of which the photographers are expected to pay up front. Participants will spend each day with Petersen in a restored riad and be give lunch, dinner and snacks, as well as 24-hour access to the 1000 Words team and an assistant/translator.

Amateurs and professional photographers are both invited to apply, but all applicants must submit 10 lo res jpegs, a link to their website, a short biography and a statement on why working with Petersen will be relevant to their practice (200 words maximum). Anders Petersen shot to fame in 1978 with the classic photobok Cafe Lehmitz, which was shot in Hamburg's red light district. Taught by Christer Stromholm in the 1960s and collaborating with JH Engstrom in 2009 to produce the publication From Back Home, he produces highly subjective, diaristic work. Petersen is represented by Galerie VU in Paris, Marvelli Gallery in New York, Gun Gallery in Stockholm and Rat Hole Gallery in Tokyo. 1000 Words is an online magazine devoted to contemporary art photography, and the brains behind the 1000 Words Collection of limited edition prints and the 1000 Words Workshops.
