Swedish photographers Anders Petersen and JH Engström will be presenting their latest project at a National Media Museum event next week

The National Media Museum is holding a discussion with Swedish photographers Anders Petersen and JH Engström. The event will give  visitors an opportunity to meet the two Swedish photographers behind one of the Museum's current exhibitions.

Taking place in the Museum's Cubby Broccoli Cinema on 22 March from 1-3pm, this will be a chance to get an insight into the photographers' work, including their award-winning project.

From Back Home is a body of work that marked the beginning of Petersen's and Engström's collaboration back in 2001. For the following seven years, the two men have been photographing the Värmland region in central Sweden, where both of them were brought up.

Born generation apart, Petersen and Engström will reflect on their common identity in what the curator of photographs at the National Media Museum Greg Hobson describes as "a remarkable achievement." He adds that the work "elegantly demonstrates the power of photography to be intimate and personal, while accessible to the viewer."

The event will include a screening of a short documentary from the series L'Art et la Manière that shows the artists at work and in their everyday life.

Tickets are available on the National Media Museum website.

Timing...

On a Tuesday at 1pm? What about most of us that are at work? I'm always surprised at how art organisations schedule events as if everybody was a time rich, had a very flexible job, or was a student or artist. I'd love to go, though!

Seconded

Me too. Can't believe i'm working about 5 miles away and drive through the place where I was born on my way home (Leeds). BUT finish at 6pm usually not midday. Come on NMM schedule things appropriately.
