Now in its fourth year, the Photography Book Now competition celebrates "the very best in self-published photography books and the photographers behind them," says the organisers. It comes with an overall cash prize of $25,000, as well as $5000 for all category winners.
Photographers can enter in four categories - Fine Art, Documentary, Travel and Student. Entries will be jugded by a panel of photography experts led by Darius Himes. He will be joined by publisher Markus Schaden, photographers Gerry Badger, Steve McCurry, Henry Horenstein, Larry Fink and Matt Eich, Larrisa Leclair of Indie Photobook Library, Chris Boot of the Aperture Foundation, Claudia Hinterseer of Noor, as well as Jon Levy of Foto8, photo editor Whitney Lawson, and Laura Brunow Miner of Pictory.
"Photography Book Now offers photographers from all backgrounds and from around the world an incredible opportunity to showcase their best work in book form," says Himes. "Submissions from the competition's first three years have set the bar high, and our jurors are looking forward to seeing even more inspiring work this year."
British Journal of Photography is a media partner, and will feature, in coming weeks, a series of features on the production of photobooks.
Photographers have until 14 July to enter the competition. For more details, visit www.photographybooknow.com.
