Argentinian Alejandro Chaskielberg might have won the overall Sony World Photography Awards title, but Spanish photographer Javier Arcenillas won four awards in this year's edition - he came first in the Current Affairs and Contemporary Issues categories, and second in the Sport and Travel categories.
UK photographer Adam Hinton won the Campaign category in the Commercial section of the awards, while Tendance Floue photographer Alain Willaume came on top in the Portraiture category.
Meanwhile, Balazs Gardi has received a third place award for his images shot in Afghanistan using the Hipstamatic application on an iPhone. His images are part of the Basetrack experiment, which BJP featured in February 2010.
