Liverpool-based professional photographers have been invited to attend Magnum Photo's latest Professional Practice event, which offers a series of creative and business-oriented lectures and presentations

The Magnum Professional Practice event brings together eight speakers over one week-end to discuss topics such as book publishing, editorial features, commercial photography, stock and print sales, as well as exhibition structuring.

The two-day event has been designed to offer "impartial guidance" to professional photographers. "This event is not aimed at beginners and applicants should have a high level of photographic aptitude," says Magnum. "We recommend attendees have been published or exhibited at least twice during their careers."

The next Professional Practice event will take place in Liverpool on 04 and 05 June. Confirmed speakers include Magnum member Ian Berry and Foto8 Magazine editor Lauren Heinz. They will be joined by Jessica Crombie of Save The Children, Sophie Chapman-Andrews from advertising agency McCann Erickson, book publisher Dewi Lewis and commercial photography consultant Zoe Whishaw.

Magnum's cultural director Sophie Wright and cultural and education coordinator Fiona Rogers will complete the line-up of speakers.

The event costs £350 and includes lunch and refreshments. Professional photographers aged 16 to 25 can apply for one of 10 bursary placements offered in association with IdeasTap.

Deadline for entry is 18 May.
