Leica has moved to dramatically expand the appeal of its S2 medium format camera system with the release of three adapters that will allow photographers to use lenses developed by other medium format manufacturers.
The Leica S-Adapter V, for example, can accommodate Hasselblad's V System lenses, while the S-Adapter P67 lets users fit their Pentax 67 system lenses on their S2 camera. Leica has also released the S-Adapter M645, which works with Mamiya's extensive 645 lens line-up.
"As a result of being able to use third-party lenses on the Leica S2, photographers now have access to a wider selection of additional lenses, further increasing the S-System's flexibility," says Leica, which adds that the adapters can also accommodate tilt-and-shift lenses.
The adapters will be avaiaible from August, retailing at £525 each.
