Getty Images plans to send "a handful" of 3D-dedicated photographers to secure the best still images from next year's Olympic Games in London.
The 3D photographers will complement the agency's team of photojournalists who traditionally cover major sporting events. Around 60 renowned and award-winning sports photographers will work together to capture 30,000 images at the Games, claims Getty Images.
"The technology will give a new dimension and unprecedented insight to the world's greatest sporting event," according to Getty Images, which used 3D technology for the first time in April to photograph the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
