The Magenta Foundation is accepting submissions from young photographers for its Flash Forward Festival.
The competition is open to British, Canadian and American photographers under the age of 34, working in any genre. The deadline for submissions is 31 December, and the entries will be judged by a panel drawn from magazines, photoagencies, galleries and publishers based in Canada, the UK, America, Hong Kong and South Korea. Applicants are asked to submit up to ten digital images as well as an artist’s statement, a biography and a CV. One photographer will win $5000, but all photographers picked out for category awards and honourable mentions will have their work published in a catalogue.
Flash Forward festival has shown work by Dominic Nahr – now with Magnum Photos – and previous emerging photographer award winners include Hin Chua and Alinka Echeverria. The Magenta Foundation’s blog can be viewed here and more information on the competition can be found here.
