British Journal of Photography has released its second iPad app issue, which is available now via Apple's Newsstand, featuring the work of photographers such as Sølve Sundsbø, Joel Sternfeld, Nan Goldin, Daniel Meadows, David yeo, James Mollison and Toni Greaves among many others.

Three months after its launch, British Journal of Photography is back on the iPad, this time via Apple's Newsstand application.
The second issue of BJP's iPad edition offers more than 340 pages of content with 250+ images and 20 minutes of exclusive video content. The app, which is available for £6.99 [$9.99 / €7.99] or via a six-month subscription rate of £9.99 [$13.99 / €10.99], presents the cutting edge (up-and-coming photographers such as Marten Lange) alongside the wisdom of people like Joel Sternfeld, Nan Goldin, Daniel Meadows and Sølve Sundsbø - the latter presenting a rare video shoot of actress Natalie Portman.
Our Intelligence section also provides perspectives from the people of influence in photography who are not necessarily practitioners themselves. The app features a profile of the Saatchi Gallery in London, set up by one of Europe's most important art collectors, as well as reports on as 10b, an Italian-based retouching company working for some of the world's leading photojournalists, and an interview with sports shooter Bob Martin, who's in charge of organising the 1350 official photographers coming to next summer's London Olympics.
But most of all, BJP's iPad app offers an interactive experience unmatched by other photography magazines. "While you may have come across photography magazines on the iPad already, they, by and large, use clunky page-turning technology that simply converts the pages of a printed magazine into page-flipping PDFs," says BJP's editor Simon Bainbridge. "That doesn't quite cut it for us, so we set about creating a bespoke app in-house, figuring that if we could impress each other with an elegant solution that brought our content to life on the iPad, then you'd probably like it too."
Issue #2 is available now in BJP's iPad app. To download the app, visit the iTunes store.

Having read a thread dated September, where disgruntled print subscribers complained about potential fees for digital issues, it was good to read assurances from BJP that issue 2 would be free to print subscribers. However, I seem to be missing a trick - I cannot work out how, as a print subscriber, I can download issue 2 of the iPad edition without paying all over again. Please could someone tell me how I am to do this, or do BJP really expect us to pay again for the same content? I seriously hope not...
