Photographers from around the world have a chance to compete for prizes worth over £8000 in this annual international photography competition. Entry to the competition costs £15, with all proceeds going toward supporting The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.
Now in its fifth year, the contest results in an exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London, and is judged by some of the industry's top experts including director of The Photographers' Gallery Brett Rogers, photographer Mary McCartney, contemporary gallery owner Michael Hoppen, picture editor at The Sunday Times Monica Allende and editor of Magnum Magnum, Brigitte Lardinois.
This year entrants are invited to submit to one of five categories - Expression, Environment, Memory, Perspective and Disorientation.
Renaissance was founded in 2006 by Fiona Gifford, a 39-year-old lawyer and keen amateur photographer who was diagnosed with breast cancer five years ago. Of the events continued success, Gifford says, "I am delighted that, four years on, it has become an established fixture in the photography world." Renaissance has already raised more than £160,000 for the charity.
The closing date for entries is 24 February. For more details, visit renaissancephotography.org
