Getty Images has rebranded its Grants for Good annual programme, putting greater emphasis on "the innovative use of creative and conceptual imagery and film," says the firm

Now known as the Getty Images Creative Grants, the annual programme will continue to award two grants of $15,000 each year to fund the creation of a visual campaign that promotes positive change, says Getty Images.

The goal is to foster the collaboration between photographers and filmmakers with agency creatives and non-profits. "Nonprofits need compelling creative content to effectively tell their stories and stand out from the documentary style traditionally associated with the nonprofit sector," says Andrew Saunders, senior vice president of creative content for Getty Images. "Together with creative agencies and content creators these organisations can leverage innovative conceptual imagery to raise awareness around critical world issues."

Photographers have until 01 March to submit their applications, which will be judged by a panel of experts that includes Nick Law, R/GA's chief creative officer for North America, Jonny Bauer of Droga5, and Karl Heiselman of Wolff Olins. The winners will be announced in June at the 2012 Cannes Lions Advertising Festival.
