Noor is inviting South African photographers to attend its Masterclass in Documentary Photography, ran in association with Nikon Europe

Author: Olivier Laurent

Organised in collaboration with the Cape Town School of Photography, the Noor-Nikon Masterclass in Documentary Photography will take place from 26 March in Cape Town, South Africa.

The masterclass is part of a five-year-long partnership between the Amsterdam-based photo agency and Nikon Europe that sees both organisations invite photographers from emerging markets such as Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa to attend a five-day masterclass.

The Cape Town masterclass is accessible to young and aspiring documentary photographers and photojournalists who are South African or are from the Southern African Development Community region.

During the masterclass, 15 participants, together with three Noor photographers and the agency's managing director will share experiences, work on portfolios, improve editing skills and learn how to pick up and develop stories. "Each day consists of intensive communication with the photographers on the subjects of technical features and the peculiarities of the international photo market," says Noor. "It is a unique opportunity to gain new knowledge, contacts, learn to tell stories in a visual language and develop personal vision."

The workshop is free of charge with transport and accommodation organised by Nikon. For more details and to enter, visit www.noorimages.com.
