The DA-645 25mm F4L [IF] SDM AW lens offers a focal length of 19.5mm in the 35mm format, "providing the widest perspective of all the lenses compatible with the Pentax 645D," says the firm.
It features two high-performance a-spherical optical elements, which provides greater image-resolving power "with outstanding brightness levels even at the edges, whilst keeping any aberrations to a minimum." The lens also has an Aero Bright Coating, which reduces lens reflections and improves light transmittance by forming a silica aerogel layer with uniform pores on the surface of the optical elements, claims Pentax.
The lens is housed in a dustproof and weather-resistant body with 11 seals, and uses a Supersonic Direct-drive Motor for smooth and quiet operation.
The DA-645 25mm F4L [IF] SDM AW lens will be available from mid-April at a retail price of £4000.
