The National Media Museum, in partnership with the University of Bradford and Bradford College, is now calling for applications for the Bradford Fellowship in Photography

Author: Olivier Laurent

Launched in 1985, the Bradford Fellowship in Photography offers one photographer or artist a £10,000 award, as well as a major exhibition and "the opportunity to work with higher education students."

But, for the first time in its 27-year history, the Fellowship is now open for applications. "The Bradford Fellowship has previously been based on nominations, however this year a call for submissions has been announced," say the organisers.

Created to support mid-career photographers, the Fellowship has been bestowed on artists such as Donovan Wylie, Sarah Jones, Paul Graham and Nick Danziger since 1985. "In every case the scheme has contributed significantly to both the development of the Fellow's practice and provided a unique opportunity for students in Bradford to interact with significant artists," says Greg Hobson, curator of photographs at the National Media Museum.

The deadline for entry is 03 September.
