There are 10 days left to enter the Hasselblad Masters, the next edition of which has been opened up to include photographers who aren't shooting exclusively on the Swedish maker's cameras.
"Masters Awards are given in recognition of a photographer's contribution to the art of photography and are judged on overall photographic ability, encompassing creativity, composition, conceptual strength, and technical skill," says a spokesperson. Finalists will be announced in next year, with winners in each category revealed in January 2014. "The winners will be provided with Hasselblad equipment to work on their projects for the Masters Book Volume 4," says a spokesperson, who adds that the launch will be take place at the Photokina trade show in Cologne later that year.
Submissions are being accepted across 12 categories, such as Fashion/Beauty and Nature/Landscape, and including two new ones; one aimed at underwater specialists, and the other targeted at photographers who are either in the early stages of their career, or remain amateur. Entries can be shot on either medium or 35mm formats, film or digital, with the only proviso being that anything captured on a digital SLR must have a minimum resolution of 16 megapixels.
Deadline is 31 August 2012.
