Format International Photography Festival returns to Derby next year – from 08 March - 07 April – exploring the theme of Factory/Work.
Curated by Louise Clements, Format takes place once every two years and is one of the UK's leading photography festivals. As with Format11, which focused on street photography, BJP is proud to announce it is opening a competition for photographers, with a slot in the Format Exposure exhibition, plus a year's free subscription to the magazine up for grabs.
Interested photographers should visit www.bjp-online.com/format, where they can find more information, plus details of how to enter online. Entry costs £25 and photographers must enter five images on the theme of Factory/Work, but have 10 images available for the final exhibition.
For more information about Format, visit www.formatfestival.com. To enter, visit www.bjp-online.com/format.
Entry fee on your text says £15 and then jumps to £25 further in the process. Did not complete to the end so I'm not sure what sum will finally be asked for. can you clarify. Also who is judging this? BJP or Format themselves?
Also, number of images to be submitted in the zipped folder changes to 15-20 later on during the process. Can you please clarify on this as well, thanks.
'but they must be available at 300dpi for the competition exhibition'
So, only digital prints for the exhibition? That seems a bit limiting.
Thanks for drawing our attention to these inconsistencies - it should be £25 throughout, and five images (with 10 images available for exhibit). We'll get the form updated asap.
Re the printing, it will be sponsored and we don't have capacity to sponsor non-digital prints unfortunately. If you wanted to take on responsibility for printing the images yourself, that's fine by us...
Re the judging, I'm still finalising the judging panel but for sure we've got Louise Clements, co-founder and artistic director/curator of Format, plus the gallerist Zelda Cheatle. We'll have one more judge, who I can confirm in hopefully the next week.
Thanks very much for the interest.

...Harry Hardie, founder of Here. Thanks very much to all our judges for getting involved. Di
