Photographers aged 35 and under have until 20 May to enter the sixth edition of the City of Levallois Photography Award, which comes with a €10,000 cash prize

Author: Olivier Laurent

The City of Levallois Photography Award is open to all photographers aged 35 and under (as of 04 October 2013) regardless of nationality.

The award was launched to support young international contemporary creation, and discover and promote new talents. "Photographers must present their own new work, which has not been previously published or exhibited," say the organisers. "The selection panel will pay particular attention to the consistency of the artistic approach in its form and content."

The winner will receive a €10,000 cash prize, as well as a monographic exhibition at the Photo Levallois festival in France.

To enter the competition, photographers must send a selection of at least 15 photographs with a supporting letter of 1000 words and a resume.

For more information on how to enter, visit www.photo-levallois.org.

Ageism

I can understand a Young persons category but why limit to under 35 years of age? Surely that's just discrimination against those of us coming late to the field?

Age Discrimination

I'm so sick of photography competitions discriminating against my because of my age. I'm a full time student but cant enter most 'student competitions' because I'm 39 so don't meet the age restriction. Why does there need to be age restrictions on any photography competition; you couldn't discriminate against race, gender or sexuality so why do you feel it's OK to say that because I'm 39 instead of 35, I can't enter?

Age

Yes, this is age discrimination.
if it was only white people that could enter, then there would be uproar.
