Victoria and Albert Museum
The Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) is the world’s leading museum of art and design, representing over three thousand years of human creativity from across Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Galleries include spectacular ceramics, fashion, glass, jewellery, metalwork, sculpture, textiles, painting and photography. The Photographs Gallery draws upon the V&A’s internationally renowned collection of photographs, and chronicles the history of photography from 1839 up to the present day. In 1852, the V&A became the first museum in the UK to collect photographs and in 1858, the first to hold a photography exhibition. Its collection is now among the most important in the world and forms the UK’s national collection of the art of photography.

In addition to its permanent collection, the Museum also hosts world-class temporary exhibitions and has a varied programme of events.

The V&A is open from 10.00-17.45 daily and until 22.00 every Friday. Visit vam.ac.uk for further information.
