PERFECT IN PRINT / TAILORED FOR TABLET / MADE FOR MOBILE
MARCH ISSUE – 2017
From the places we call home to Earth’s altered landscape, we’ve partnered with Britain’s biggest photofestival, Format, to explore the theme of ‘Habitat’.
We interview Jon Tonks about his continued examination of the remnants of colonialism, this time through the ‘cargo cults’ of Venatu, while John MacLean travels around the world to photograph the hometowns of the artists who most influenced him. We talk to Hester Keijser about her headline exhibition at Format, featuring work that addresses the notion of the anthropocene, and Tom Seymour travels to visit the world’s longest-running portrait studio, whose recently discovered archive is showing at the festival. Plus we feature some of the best work from Format’s open call; we meet the people behind Flaneur, a travelling photography show that has taken over city centres across Europe before heading to its final destination in Derby. And we speak to the winner of our International Photography Award, Daniel Castro Garcia.
BJP is on sale in the shops from the first Wednesday of every month.
