James Thomson and David Tipper have won the Beauty of Mono competition run by Ilford Photo. Thomson, who was the overall winner of the competition, came first in the Ilford HP5 Plus category, while Tipper won in the Delta 100 professional category.

The Andy Warhol Foundation is distributing more than 28,000 original photographs from the renowned artist to 183 US college and university art museums. The collection is valued at $28m. The donation marks the foundation's 20th anniversary.

Corel has released the newest version of its graphics suite, CorelDraw Graphics Suite X4. Visit www.corel.com.

PA Photos has sent photographer Jon Buckle to Sydney to increase sport and showbiz coverage in Australia and New Zealand. Buckle has worked for PA Photos for 10 years.

DxO Labs has added Nikon D3 support to its Optics Pro version 5. The update comes on the heels of support for the Nikon D300. Lens correction modules have also been added for three Nikkor lenses released for the Nikon D3. Optics Pro 5 is available immediately for Windows users, and in spring for Macs. Prices start at £99.

Direct has upgraded its digital back rentals to the Phase One P+ model. Direct now has now available for rent the P45+ and P30+ backs, as well as Canon's EOS-1Ds Mark III camera.
