Leica, which has just announced the launch of its first digital SLR, has revealed entering into a 'strategic partnership' with Phase One.
The partnership will see both firms collaborate on marketing initiative. However, Leica and Phase One will also share technology and knowledge.
Under the deal, Phase One will allow Leica to use its Capture One software, which will be used with Leica S system. In return, Leica will help Phase One develop its optics. However, Leica will not launch branded lenses for Phase One's medium-format cameras.
During his press conference, Leica CEO Andreas Kaufmann also revealed that the R10 camera will be announced soon. However, he declined to be more specific about the timing and the features of the upcoming release.
