BJP is expecting more than a thousand visitors to its annual photography event in London, Vision '08, headlined by Simon Norfolk, who is profiled in this week's issue.
Best known for his stunning large format images exploring the socio-economic effects of militarism, Norfolk has been acclaimed as the leading British photographer of his generation. He's also one of the most intelligent and provocative speakers in photography, and at Vision he will be talking about the ethos behind his work, the ideas behind his latest series, Full Spectrum Dominance, and how he's built a career shooting challenging subjects that are sold in some of the world's leading fine art photo galleries.
He will be joined by Simon Roberts, who will give the first public viewing of his latest photo series, We English – a follow-up to his celebrated book exploring Russian identity, Motherland, this time focusing on nationhood closer to home.
And we also flying in one of Magnum Photos rising starts, Jacob Aue Sobol, who arrives hot of the press with his latest book, I Tokyo, winner of the Leica European Photographers Award.
Vision will also feature its usual mix of portfolio reviews, seminars, career advice and product demonstrations. Confirmed guests at this year's event include Apple, Magnum Photos, Hewlett-Packard, Nikon, Thames & Hudson, Rapid Group, The Photographers' Gallery, Steve Bloom, Profoto and Kodak.
