Over the past few months, photographers have noticed they had become the targets of Forward Intelligence Team officers.

As recently as this week, two photographers have been under surveillance when covering a protest in Brighton. Photojournalist Marc Vallée and another photographer were filmed while waiting in a car for the protest to start.

'Police started filming journalists sitting in the car from across the road before coming over to ask what they were doing. After identifying themselves as journalists Police continued to film and question the two journalists,' documentary photographer Jonathan Warren writes.

Later the two photographers were denied authorisation to photograph near the station where protesters would be arriving and were allegedly assaulted by police, with photojournalist Guy Smallman being bitten by a police attack dog.

For a full report of the incident, visit Vallée's blog and Warren's website.
