Lecturer in Photojournalism (0.6FTE) AMD11-21
£31,020 - £35,938 per annum pro rata
To support our developing undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio, the Photography area is looking to recruit a specialist- confident in current practice, theories and debates relating specifically to all aspects of Photojournalism. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of the discipline to both taught programmes BA Photojournalism and BA Photography. The post holder will take a particular lead in sustaining the Photojournalism award's commitment to employability and academic excellence. You will have particular expertise in the area of Photojournalistic practice and will be able to lead current modules and develop future and current content for new areas.
Applicants should be active within the discipline of Photojournalism, with thorough knowledge and current experience of contemporary professional practices and debates in Photojournalism. Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they are a professional practitioner with research interests in the field and be prepared to sustain and develop these activities alongside their teaching and administrative duties. The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills and would have teaching responsibilities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will have the ability and experience to lead the development of the discipline and will co-ordinate and lead aspects of the curriculum relating to Photojournalism and Photography. The successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to the development of practice-based research and have the potential to contribute to the supervision of students engaged in postgraduate research.
