The challenge

Use your imaging or audio skills to help fight tax evasion and investigate crime. Joining our Photographic & Imaging Team (PIT), you'll provide HMRC Law Enforcement with evidential imaging of the highest standard.

We have opportunities for two experienced photographic, audio or video technicians. The first point of contact for technical assistance, you'll process printing requests, basic CCTV and video capture and transfers, and basic forensic audio restoration. This may include producing digital evidence and detailed technical witness statements for use in criminal proceedings.

You'll also work alongside the in-house IT team to maintain and deliver support for PIT PCs and Macs as well as associated technology including printers, scanners, disc duplicators, sophisticated forensic computing systems for audio and CCTV analysis.

We offer technical training to supplement your existing skills, and other training to prepare you to present evidence in court. There are excellent opportunities for career progression.

The person

Fully conversant with analogue and digital media in both still and video formats, you'll have a recognised media or photographic qualification (BTEC, C&G equivalent or higher) along with some work experience. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, and Windows and Mac operating systems is essential.

You must also be capable of recognising and meeting customer needs, and communicating effectively, both in writing and in person. You'll be expected to take a practical test as part of the selection process and will need to produce examples of recent work.

These are reserved posts, based at Custom House, London and candidates must be British nationals, have full colour vision and a good level of hearing, and live within 90 minutes travelling time of central London.
