The German photographer and artist Marco Breuer is about to have a solo exhibition, titled Silent Speed, open at the Yossi Milo Gallery in New York.

Marco Breuer was born in Landshut, Germany, in 1966, and currently lives and works in upstate New York.

Much of his work is born off experimenting with different photography techniques, rather than using the aid of a camera or film.

Silent Speed connects various motifs, that transform as they move from one format to another.

His photographic colour works present free-flowing shapes in the forms of: silhouettes, logos, human form and shadows. Lines act as a way of tracing movement and suggesting volume. Some of his photography also features Buster Keaton’s gymnastics.

His work will be showcased on small collages, two-page studies, polaroid sequences, and a 16-page black-and-white newsprint tabloid publication.

His photography appears in the permanent collections of galleries including the Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Silent Speed opens on September 8th.
