Photokina News: Sigma adds 85mm f/1.4 for Art lens line-up

The company says that the new design of the 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art offers reduced chromatic aberration even at the widest apertures, and the new Hyper Sonic Motor is three times more reactive than that used in the previous version of the lens.
Resolution is said to be good enough for 50-million-pixels and beyond thanks to the use of SLD glasses, and control of coma means no swirling edge effects at f/1.4. The company also says it is proud of the rendering of out-of-focus highlights and the smooth transition from focused to out-of-focus areas.
The lens will be available with mounts for Canon, Nikon and Sigma, while Sony E mount users can fit the MC-11 adapter to Sigma- or Canon-mount examples. The lens will cost £1199.99.
